typeface design | monotype prints | risography

Graduate thesis work; variable typeface design inspired by movement on a photocopier.

As someone with a propensity to overthink and strive towards perfection, this work collaborates with technology, allowing process to help in decision-making and shaping end results. Distorted letterforms are entwined with structured typefaces and conflicting messages; random monotype prints become digital color separations; or scripts and Python code help determine the color, weight, and opacity of each letterform, resulting in endless possibilities.

Open Hands Finance

logo design | branding & identity | illustration | print

Open Hands Finance endeavors to empower young adults with confidence in making financial choices by offering basic financial education that is often missing from classroom settings.

To create a brand identity that felt young, relatable, and inspiring the logo mark combines imagery of a rising sun with an open hand to symbolize a fresh start: both for the brand and young adults just starting their financial journey. Simple typography paired with tints of green and landscape photography give precedence to the information while invoking a sense of financial well-being.

The 95-page workbook is a fully-designed course guide containing case studies, example budgets, and helpful resources alongside illustrations and infographics.

This logo design has been featured in The Best Finance Logo Designs by DesignRush.
